Day 7 - en los médicos clases de español.
Rain free this morning on the way to classes, but I did
bring my umbrella just in case. In medical Spanish today we continued to
practice physical examination questions for clinical, practice our numbers, so
that they were more easily recognizable when spoken by a patient and different formal
commands that we would use during an assessment.
Medical Spanish Class - UAG
Yum Yum….today was
another field trip day! We had regular classes of grammar and medical Spanish. Then
for cultura clases we were taken to a famous Mexican Restaurant called La Chata
by our Cultura professor and director of the Spanish department Alicia. Just
from looking at the outside of the building you can appreciate the strong
influence of the Mexican culture. The bright colors of the building and lush tropical
foliage that frames the entrances of many restaurants in the area show a true
pride of ownership. Upon entering the restaurant doors the lively colors from the
outside flowed into the restaurant foyer. To the left was a portion of the kitchen
opened to the public to view papas and flautas being fried and watch the women
pat out fresh tortillas from scratch. We entered the main dining room where art
and more dynamic shades filled the space. The food was amazing. I had a kind of
sample plate which included: el pollo fritos, una flauta, una enchilada, una
sope, papas and ensalada verde. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.

One thing that I always have to remember with nursing is – Strive
to be the successful in all that you do.
Favorite Spanish sentence of the day – Suba su manga? Por
favor - One of the formal commands that we would use during an assessment. –
Roll up your sleeve, please.
